Confederate City: Augusta, GA 1860-1865


Facts and Photographs, etchings and engravings interweave in Confederate City, to paint a vivid picture of the city, every facet of whose daily life was affected by war, but whose windows never looked out on Union invaders until the war ended. Florence Fleming Corley is a native of Augusta and was educated in the public schools. She received her doctorate from the University of Georgia. She teaches U.S. and Georgia history at Kennesaw State College.
