To this end, the Society’s historical and genealogical research materials are available in the Special Collections area of the Reese Library at Augusta University. The Society is committed to publishing original or out of print publications every two years. Members are invited to attend three-four meetings a year on various topics of local history given by historians, lecturers and authors. Receptions are held after every meeting for speakers and networking among members.
Augusta History is published twice a year and contains articles written by Augusta authors and historians about the history of Augusta, Georgia and the CSRA. As a non-profit organization, the Society relies upon membership dues, corporate contributions, memorial gifts and book sales for funding. Memberships and gifts are essential to the continued success of the organization because these funds provide a significant part of our operating budget. All gifts are tax deductible.
